Indochina day 3: Ho Chi Minh - city tour

post ini kelanjutan dari post sebelumnya, kali ini gw mau coba nulis in english.
pardon me if the grammar messed up (^^)v

continuing story of my recent indochina trip (16-22 february 2016), this morning we say goodbye to gama, shanty, and vita. though we'll meet again because we booked same hostel in siem reap. how about fibri? she'll stay in ho chi minh, maybe until tomorrow, and she's going to cu chi tunnels today. didi & choky goes to send away gama, shanty, vita. but actually they also wanna see the bus, we'll going to use the same bus tomorrow if it looks ok.
after more than 1 hour, didi & choky come back to our room, and they already have 4 bus tickets for us. it's different bus with gama. our bus will depart at 3pm and arrive at 7 or 8 am in siem reap, we forgetting about seeing sunrise at angkor wat because we don't have the will to stay more than 1 day in siem reap and bus from siem reap to bangkok only available in morning too. i will explain more about bus/transport siem reap-bangkok in other post (when we're arrive in siem reap).

anyway, we go downstairs to have breakfast and check-out the hostel, get ready to explore ho chi minh city, we put our backpacks at shelf (available for hostel guest) in the kitchen. with map in hand, we walk around the city by ourselves.

my breakfast: egg-bread & ice coffee

the attractions are affordable by walk from pham ngu lao street (our hostel)

people committee hall, with ho chi minh statue

opera building

notre-dame cathedral
central post office, across the street from cathedral

inside central post office, with ho chi minh picture

you can send mail to your self at home, though i didn't try it

next, we went to independent palace and war remnants museum, but just at the outside. at noon we're back to our hostel to pick-up our backpacks, we stop in ben thanh market to buy some souvenirs and also stop in fast food restaurant to buy lunch & take-away-early-dinner. at 2.30pm we're going to bus agent, and find a-good-enough-bus. with $17.5 we're given mineral water, and in pnom penh we'll change the bus to sleeper bus.

this is the bus, when we're at vietnam-cambodia border
